Silymarin

Silymarin is the main ingredient in milk thistle seeds. It has been used to treat liver and gallbladder disorders, cirrhosis, and hepatitis. Silymarin is also a potential treatment for jaundice. The dietary supplement contains a small percentage of silymarin. In comparison, the label of Trunature Milk Thistle claims each serving contains 160 mg of silymarin. However, a lab analysis reveals that each serving contains only 83.4 mg and 203 mg, respectively.

While there is no conclusive evidence to support the claims in milk thistle lawsuits, studies have shown that silymarin inhibits recombinant CYP3A4 and CYP2C9. In vitro studies, it did not alter CYP3A4 expression or the pharmacokinetics of indinavir. It did not affect pharmacokinetics of irinotecan or midazolam.

Teff-cenne zboze bezglutenowe

Teff-scene is a grain that is gluten-free, and rich in methionine, calcium, iron, folic acid, and antioxidants. These benefits are what make this grain so appealing to people. According to a study in Poland, there are no reported cases of teff allergy in the country. Similarly, no milk thistle allergy cases were reported in the country.

The research on milk thistle has been limited, but there are several cases of injuries caused by teff. The plant’s main active ingredient, silymarin, helps to lower triglyceride levels in diabetic patients and improve insulin resistance. Another substance, silybin, induces apoptosis in various neoplastic cells. In addition, certain components of milk thistle are believed to be effective adjuncts to chemotherapy.

Mycotoxins

Emerging mycotoxins such as ochratoxin A, fusarium enniatins, and Altertoxin are produced by several fungi. They are highly prevalent in food and may have a wide range of effects on humans and animals. These mycotoxins cause cell damage, alter cell cycles, and affect the immune, genotoxic, and neurotoxic systems. Despite these negative effects, the emerging mycotoxins may be useful for future research as anticancer therapies and pesticides.

Fusarium trichothecenes were the most common mycotoxins in milk thistle preparations. Fusarium trichothecenes occurred in 92% and 96% of samples, respectively. They are also known as entities. The presence of these mycotoxins reduces the beneficial effects of silymarin. Further, enniatins may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer.

Side effects

Milk thistle is used as a medicinal herb to treat liver disorders and prevent hepatitis and inflammation. Some research suggests that it can lower blood sugar levels, so people with diabetes should use caution. It has also been used to treat toxic liver conditions, toxicity from Amanita phalloides mushrooms, and chronic inflammatory hepatitis. It can also lower cholesterol and reduce insulin resistance, as well as reduce the growth of prostate, breast, and cervical cancer cells. But be aware that milk thistle can cause gastrointestinal side effects, such as diarrhea, indigestion, and nausea.

In addition to improving cholesterol levels, silymarin can also improve the function of the liver, which is responsible for the proper breakdown of foods. Studies have shown that silymarin increases the solubility of bile, the digestive juice produced by the gall bladder and liver. Healthy bile helps maintain a healthy digestive system and helps the body break down fats. Additionally, silymarin has been shown to reduce the size of fat cells, which makes them easier to break down.

Costco milk thistle products

A recent class action lawsuit alleges that Costco milk thistle supplements do not contain enough silymarin, the active ingredient of milk thistle seeds. The product contains much less silymarin than the label states. Milk thistle is used as a natural remedy for liver disorders, jaundice, and gallbladder disorder. The company behind trunature Liver Health Complex claims its product contains 80 percent silymarin.

There are several claims in the class action suit. These claims include violations of New York business law, breach of express and implied warranties, and unjust enrichment. The plaintiff seeks compensatory, statutory, and punitive damages as well as injunctive and declaratory relief. He is represented by Taus Cebulash & Landau LLP. The lawsuit asserts that the defendants failed to disclose the presence of milk thistle in their product labels.
